Heather wraps up year as Grand Royal Matron

On March 24th Heather Baker came out of the chair as the Grand Royal Matron of the Grand Court of New South Wales, Order of the Amaranth

Soup and Sandwich Lunch at The Laurels

A very successful lunch was held at The Laurels where we were lucky enough to have four members, Hannah Mills, Joyce Chambers, Heather Baker and James Atkinson, who were volunteers at the Sydney Olympics. They brought several pieces of memorabilia for us to look at and this was very much admired. There was also a plate commemorating the Melbourne Games in 1956.
Hannah and Joyce also took part in the Torch Relay for the Paralympics Games and their torches were on display.
As you can see from the photos some members did get dressed up representing the AFL, League and Soccer.

'Cure for Life' is Hawkesbury Court's Charity Project for 2012 - 2013

Hawkesbury Court's charity is "Cure for Life" supporting Dr Charlie Teo's Work.
Charlie is a brain surgeon and mainly has patients with brain tumours - he has so many children as this is one of the greatest killers of children.
He is also researching the use of mobile phones and brain cancer. He is a talented doctor and relies on donations to continue his research.

Southern Cross Court No 3 - Installation

It was an all day meeting at Southern Cross beginning with a rehearsal in the morning, lunch, and the Initiation of H.L. Sybil Churchill.

This was then followed by the Installation & Coronation Ceremony of H.L. Margaret Southwell and Officers.

The Grand Royal Patron S.K. Alan Bover, along with three Life Members from Adelaide were in attendance and H.L. Marie Cameron, DSRM had the privilege of performing the Coronation Ceremony.

It was a lovely day from beginning to end

Thursday the 26th April -
We look forward to supporting H.L. Beverley’s chosen charity for this year - the Peninsula Palliative Care Unit in Frankston and plan to have some social functions to help with our fundraising

A donation of $1,000 was given by the members of Royal Victoria Court to the Junior Diabetes Foundation which was our outgoing Royal Matron H.L. Helen Wright’s project for 2011/2012

North Sydney Court Installation

HL Pamela Carey was installed as RM and SK John Toakley as RP on the 14th April 2012. HL Pam and SK John have served together six times. This is the 22nd time SK John has been Royal Patron of North Sydney Court. SK John was Grand Royal Patron in 1975-76. In her welcoming address HL Pam said “this will be my swan song, I’m 91 you know.”
The Court project for this year will be The Garven Institute-neuroscience research.

A new year always brings new opportunities….

We are at the beginning of another new Amaranth Year for our Grand Court.
A new year always brings new opportunities and with the enthusiastic help and support of our members in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and those living in South Australia and Western Australia we hope to do great things to advance our Order.
Membership growth is a number one priority and members can do much to help in this regard. If you are viewing this website we would be delighted to hear from you – membership has much to offer.
